At your next party or barbeque, you don't have to put
up with fizzy, mass-produced canned beers. You can enjoy the fresh,
hoppy aroma and full, malty body of our hand-crafted cask ales. All
Frog Island beers are produced by traditional methods and are brewed
using only the 4 essential ingredients of top-quality English malt,
predominantly English hops, water and yeast. The absence of
artificial additives means there is less risk of a nasty hangover! |
|

|
Why settle for anything less than real ale, when you can purchase
any Frog Island beer in quantities of 20 litres (approximately 35
pints) or 9 gallons (approximately 72 pints)?

A 3.8% pale brown, easy drinking beer. English Marris
Otter pale malt, crystal malt and wheat malt contributes to a
malty aroma with a hint of caramel. The initial roasted malt flavour
is balanced by the bitterness and hop character of English Target
and Fuggles hops, which linger into the aftertaste. |

A 4.2% copper-coloured beer with an aroma of roasted
malt and a hint of passion fruit. The use of English Marris Otter
pale malt, crystal malt and wheat malt produces a full-bodied, malty
flavour which is enhanced by the citrus notes of American Cascade
hops. The bitterness of English Target hops fades with the maltiness
to result in a dry, nutty finish. |

Croak & Stagger is a 5.6% dark, full flavoured beer. This
recipe for this chestnut-coloured brew includes American Cascade
hops which contribute a sweet and spicy note to the aroma. The use
of English Marris Otter pale malt, crystal malt, wheat malt and
chocolate malt gives a flavour that is initially roasted and
slightly bitter and develops to give a slight hint of dried vine
fruits. The flavour of the Cascade hops and bitterness produced by
the addition of English Target hops combine to produce an astringent
aftertaste. In March 2004 it was crowned Supreme Champion at the
Society of Independent Brewers national competition.. |

Information
-
Due to the nature of cask ale, these products are not
available by mail
order. Cask ale must be pre-ordered and collected directly from the
brewery at a pre-arranged time. See Order Form for details of
Brewery opening times.
-
Quantities of 20 litres are supplied in a non-returnable
polypin (an easy-to-use polythene container in a box fitted with
a tap). Quantities of 9 gallons are supplied in barrels. ( We
also supply you with equipment to dispense the beer from the
barrel, but the barrel, stillage and tap will need to be
returned to us.)
-
Beer can be supplied either "sedimented" or
"brewery-racked". Sedimented beer will need to settle
in a cool (ideally 14ºC)
undisturbed place for 48 hours before it is ready to drink. If
kept in ideal conditions, sedimented beer in polypins should
remain drinkable for up to 3 weeks, whilst sedimented beer in
casks should be drunk within 5 days. If you order brewery-racked
beer, the sediment will be removed at the brewery, and the beer
will be drinkable as soon as you get it home. Ideally,
brewery-racked beer should be consumed within 2 days of
purchase.
-
Please complete the 'cask beer
order' section of the order form, including the date you would
like to collect your order.
