The mouth-watering allure of a freshly hand-pulled
pint has been bottled by Frog Island Brewery for you to enjoy in the
comfort of your own home. As a truly hand-crafted product, our beers
are brewed, gently hand-bottled and hand-labelled on site. The
secondary fermentation that takes place in the bottle ensures that
the character of the beer is preserved and complimented by the
subtle carbonation produced by the bottle-conditioning process.
Without the addition of additives or artificial carbonation, you
will find that our bottle-conditioned beers really do taste like
real ale in a bottle.
The following beers are available in cases of 12 x 500ml bottles: |
| Natterjack
Natterjack is a 4.8% golden, smooth-drinking beer with a sweet,
hoppy aroma. English Marris Otter pale malt is used to produce an
initially sweet taste, followed by a malty astringency. The malty
body is balanced by a sweet, floral flavour contributed by English
Target and Goldings hops. This beer is a bottle-conditioned version
of our best-selling cask beer.

| Fire-Bellied Toad
Fire-Bellied Toad is a 5.0% pale ale that exhibits the full
aroma, flavour and bitterness characteristics of a single variety of
English hop, Phoenix. This golden-brown beer has a sweet, floral
aroma and a slightly sweet initial flavour that is followed by a
lasting hop flavour and bitterness. This is balanced by the use of
English Marris Otter pale malt, with the addition of wheat malt and
crystal malt to provide extra flavour and colour. This bottled
beer is based on the cask-conditioned beer of the same name, which
won a silver award at the Beauty of English Hops competition in
1997.

| Croak & Stagger
Croak & Stagger is a 5.6% dark, full flavoured beer. This
recipe for this chestnut-coloured brew includes American Cascade
hops which contribute a sweet and spicy note to the aroma. The use
of English Marris Otter pale malt, crystal malt, wheat malt and
chocolate malt gives a flavour that is initially roasted and
slightly bitter and develops to give a slight hint of dried vine
fruits. The flavour of the Cascade hops and bitterness produced by
the addition of English Target hops combine to produce an astringent
aftertaste. This bottled beer was described as "a cold weather winner"
in the Times newspaper of 18th April 1998, when it was rated as
joint-second against bottled beers from around the country.

| Pouring the Perfect Pint
All bottle-conditioned beers contain a harmless yeast sediment.
To ensure a clear and perfect beer, allow the sediment to settle at
the bottom of the bottle, and the pour the beer carefully into a
glass, leaving the sediment in the bottle,. Serve cool, but not
cold, to maximise the flavour and refreshing nature of the beer. |
